I was just a little too wired up to go to bed without uploading the photos of the "Awake the State" rally-protest and giving a brief description. We got there a little before 5pm and already about 50 people with signs had grouped on the corner of Nova and 92 - ISB on the sidewalk near the Steak and Shake restaurant. Quickly the crowd swelled to what was estimated at over 500 (Rob Field told me that he had counted 509) though Channel 9 said about 300.
Channel 9 also said the state wide rally-protests were attended by "public employees" but they would be wrong about that too since many of us were not.
As the crowd grew, more protesters formed on the other three corners and the median strip. Along 92 to the west almost out of sight (see pics).
The support from motorists, and bikers was fantastic! The traffic was continuous and very heavy.
Motorists, truck drivers, bus drivers, made so much honking noise that there was there was seldom a time when no horns were blowing in our ears followed by cheers from the sidewalks.
Even after dark, where only by their headlights could they read our signs, with thumbs up and fists raised out of windows they blew their horns in support.
The "out of towners", the hundreds of bikers that revved up their engines while at stopped at the red light to show their support and as they roared past a huge majority raised their fists into the air, made victory signs, gave us thumbs up and laid on their horns.
Yes, even police cars waived and gave thumbs up. Ambulances gave quick bursts of their sirens.
It was loud, amazing and energizing.
As Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich said today: ".....Governor Scott wants to give large corporations and other wealthy CEOs more of our tax dollars and eliminate the small share of our tax burden these same corporations currently pay”.
That's right take it from the schools and give it to the corporations.
Maybe NOT!!!  Say the people!
Our children did not cause the bust in the economy or the resulting loss of taxable real estate revenues.
We can blame the corporations and the banks for that.....so when do they get penalized?
Those of you who don't know what's going on had better wake up, what you think are budget cuts are really being matched on the other side by giveaways to big business by our CEO governor, it's not about the budget?
Right....it's not about Florida's budget!
This is a transfer of wealth from the our children and workers to big business.

This same thing is happening in Washington. Big corporations are not paying their fair share of tax. According to Forbes Magazine: companies are keeping billions of dollars every year out of the clutches of the U.S. Treasury using loopholes.
For example: Exxon Mobile made $45 billion in profits and paid no tax in 2009.
And every one of us is paying for Big Oil subsidies as funds are cut from programs for the poor and needy.
This seems so far fetched but it's true.....you can't even make this stuff up!
